PLO official: We will never recognize a Jewish State

"PLO Executive Committee member Saleh Rafat emphasized that [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu, the pillars of his government, and all those who stand by its side or support it know well that there will never be a Palestinian that agrees or can agree to renounce even one of the Palestinian rights that have been anchored in the agreements and decisions of international bodies…
He continued: 'Our recognition of Israel as part of the ‘Oslo’ declaration of principles agreement (i.e., 1993 Oslo Accords) does not mean in any way that we have recognized what is called the "Jewish state," and that recognition will never take place, just as no Palestinian will agree to even one Israeli soldier remaining in the territories of the Palestinian state.'"
