Fatah strengthens connection to violence and terror at party elections

At the recent Fatah party elections, many of the elected representatives glorified terror against Israeli civilians during the terror wave of 2015-16

Fatah Central Committee member Mahmoud Al-Aloul confirmed in a phone conversation with the [independent Palestinian news] agency Ma'an that during the meeting he was elected as deputy chairman of the [Fatah] Movement. The committee also elected Jibril Rajoub as Central Committee secretary. The position of deputy chairman and secretary will be for a period of only one year…
Positions were allocated as follows:
[Mahmoud] Al-Aloul – Fatah deputy chairman
Jibril Rajoub – Central Committee secretary
Sabri Saidam – [Central Committee] deputy secretary, will continue to devote all of his time to his position as [PA] minister of education
Jamal Muhaisen – commissioner of mobilization and organization in the West Bank
Ahmed Helles – commissioner of mobilization and organization in Gaza
Nasser Al-Qidwa – commissioner of information, culture, and ideology
Rawhi Fattouh – commissioner of international relations
Tawfiq Tirawi – commissioner of popular organizations
Muhammad Shtayyeh – commissioner of treasury and economy
Samir Al-Rifai – commissioner of branches abroad
Abbas Zaki – commissioner for Arab relations
Azzam Al-Ahmad – [commissioner of] national relations (i.e., internal Palestinian affairs, particularly the Fatah-Hamas rift)
Hajj Ismail [Jaber] – Fatah deputy chairman of military and district affairs
Muhammad Al-Madani – commissioner of contact with [Israeli] society
Saeb Erekat – will continue to be [PLO] chief negotiator
Hussein Al-Sheikh – will continue to devote all of his time to his position as PA minister (sic., head) of civil affairs
Dalal Salameh – commissioner of NGOs”
