Hamas military wing spokesman: Prisoner release deal is a matter of time
Headline: “Abu Ubeida: The prisoner release deal is a matter of time”
“[Izz A-Din] Al-Qassam Brigades’ (i.e., Hamas’ military wing) Spokesman Abu Ubeida said that the exchange deal of the prisoners from the occupation’s prisons is currently a matter of time.
Abu Ubeida’s statement came in response to how the occupation’s military court at the ‘Ofer’ [Prison on Feb. 22, 2017] renewed the previous sentence that was imposed on prisoner Nael Barghouti (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1), which was a life sentence and an additional 18 years.
Abu Ubeida added in a tweet on Twitter: ‘The sentence against commander Nael Barghouti is a worthless sentence, as the Al-Qassam Brigades have decided to release the prisoners, and it is only a matter of time, with Allah’s help.’”
Nael and Fakhri Barghouti – Palestinian terrorists who killed an Israeli army officer in January 1978, near Ramallah. Both were sentenced to life plus 18 years but were released in the Shalit prisoner exchange deal in 2011. Nael Barghouti was arrested again in 2014 for violating the terms of his release by offering Hamas to serve as its minister of prisoners' affairs, and is serving his reinstated original sentence.
