PA Mufti: The Al-Aqsa Mosque “which belongs only to the Muslims, and [is] not a holy site for the Jews… is being subjected to daily attacks by the settlers”

"[PA] Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian Territories Sheikh Muhammad Hussein said that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is an Islamic mosque, which belongs only to the Muslims, and not a holy site for the Jews as the occupation authorities claim.
The mufti explained today, Wednesday [March 1, 2017], at a joint press conference in Ramallah with Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) representative in Palestine Ahmed Al-Ruweidi, that the Al-Aqsa Mosque is being subjected to daily attacks by the settlers under the protection of the occupation, which constitutes an attack against the sanctity of the site and the right of the Muslims to this mosque."
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an “attack.” It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
