The PLO Supreme Council for Youth and Sports has announced it is naming a youth camp after terrorist murderer Dalal Mughrabi. Mughrabi led the 1978 Coastal Road massacre, in which terrorists hijacked a bus and killed 37 civilians, including 12 children.
District Governor of Ramallah Laila Ghannam, a Palestinian Authority official, praised the initiative for "remembering the pure-hearted Martyrs":
"Dr. Ghannam... welcomed [the delegation's] efforts to hold a camp named after Martyr Dalal Mughrabi. She praised the creative initiative and its goals, and particularly everything connected to remembering the pure-hearted Martyrs... She also ordered all of the parties involved to do all that is necessary so that the solidarity rally will take place in a fashion worthy of Martyr Mughrabi, her comrades (i.e., the other terrorists participating in the 1978 Coastal Road massacre), and all of Palestine's Martyrs."

It is far from surprising that the PLO Council for Youth is naming a youth camp after a terrorist murderer, as the council is headed by terror supporter Jibril Rajoub, who explicitly promotes and endorses terror, as Palestinian Media Watchhas documented in its report The Rajoub File.
This is also not the first time the council has named a youth camp after a terrorist, nor is it the first time Rajoub is involved in an event honoring a murderer:
- Following the wave of Palestinian terror attacks (2015-2016), the PLO Council and the PA Ministry of Education's Jerusalem Education Directorate named a summer camp after Baha Alyan,murderer of 3.
- In Dec. 2015, Rajoub sponsored atable tennis tournament named after Muhannad Halabi, murderer of 2.

Ramallah Governor Laila Ghannam also has a history of glorifying and supporting terrorists. In Feb. 2015, the municipality of Philadelphia, PA withdrew an honorary award it had previously bestowed on Ghannam in response to PMW documentation of her terror support.
For years, the Palestinian Authority has turned terrorists into role models by naming youth campsand other events and structures after them.

A delegation from the Center [West Bank] Council for Youth and Sports met with Rashida Mughrabi... The meeting revolved around the preparations that the Center Council is making to hold the first Brothers of Dalal camp for youth in Jericho next month.
[Center Council Director-General Mu'tasim] Abu Gharbieh updated Mughrabi regarding the arrangements and recent discussions he held in preparation for holding the camp. He noted that the camp is being held in honor of Martyr (Shahida) Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children) and her comrades in the Martyr Kamal Adwan Operation (i.e., Coastal Road massacre in 1978), and for the purpose of demanding the release of the bodies of the Martyrs from the numbered cemetery (i.e., Israeli cemetery for terrorists and enemy soldiers) and the bodies of the Martyrs of the Jerusalem uprising (Palestinian terror wave 2015-2016, see note below -Ed.) that are being held by the occupation.
[Director of Refugee Camps and Youth Camps of the Center Council Bilal] Abu Ramouz gave a complete explanation about the [youth] camp program, which is supposed to open on March 7, [2017,] at the Jericho Municipality Square and to take place at the Madinat Al-Amal [sports club in Jericho] for five days with the participation of 45 young men and women from among the university students and representatives of the institutes of young people in the center districts."

Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel's history, known as the Coastal Road massacre, in 1978, when she and other Fatah terrorists hijacked a bus on Israel's Coastal Highway, killing 37 civilians, 12 of them children, and wounding over 70.
Kamal Adwan was responsible for Fatah’s terrorist operations in Israel in the early 1970’s and was a senior member of Black September. He was killed by Israeli forces in April 1973.
The Cemeteries for Enemy Casualties are two burial sites maintained by the Israeli army for burying the bodies of enemy soldiers as well as terrorists. They are fenced and well-marked. Graves have markers instead of gravestones. Burial is temporary, on the assumption that the bodies will eventually be returned to their countries of origin. No ceremony is held. The bodies are buried in numbered caskets, after their identities have been documented.
The Palestinian terror wave of 2015-2016 was characterized by Palestinian violence and terror attacks against Israelis, including stabbings, shootings, throwing Molotov cocktails, and car rammings. It started in September 2015 and as of July 2016, 40 people were killed (36 Israelis, 1 Palestinian, 2 Americans, and 1 foreign worker from Eritrea) and over 500 were wounded.
