PA official defends murderers and terrorists “who sacrificed their blood”
Official PA TV News, on the anniversary ceremony for the death of terrorist Dalal Mughrabi who led the murder of 37, 12 of them children
Official PA TV newsreader: “The Fatah Movement in Ramallah marked the 39th anniversary of the Martyrdom (Istish’had) of Dalal Mughrabi (i.e., terrorist who led murder of 37, 12 of them children) and her comrades… in the presence of a number of official and national public figures, [as well as] a public audience. The participants emphasized that they will continue to defend the rights of our Martyrs (Shahids) and the commemoration of the memory of them so that it does not disappear, which the leadership led by [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas is defending in light of their struggle and sacrifice for liberation and independence.”
District Governor of Ramallah and El-Bireh Laila Ghannam: “[May there be] mercy on all of our Martyrs, and prime among them our eternal Martyr Yasser Arafat. Our sons and daughters have sacrificed their blood so that we will live in freedom, even in this situation [when] this terrorist extremist [Israeli] government falsifies history and presents our fighters as if they were murderers and terrorists. However, history will not forget. Everyone will read [history] as we have read [it]: Even in our resistance we have principles, and we have compassion if that can be said, and principles according to which we act.”
Dalal Mughrabi’s sister Rashida Mughrabi: “Every year we hold [a ceremony to mark] the anniversary of Dalal’s Martyrdom, because we insist that the heroes remain alive among us. They are alive in Heaven and they should be alive on earth too. We are proud of our Martyrs and our history of struggle. We are also conveying the message that we have not sold our land - in fact, we have sacrificed for its liberation.”
