Sec-Gen of Palestinian Teachers’ Union: We will distribute textbooks for free, won’t agree to Israeli curriculum
Headline: "Education conference in Amman titled A Cry From Jerusalem"
"A conference was held yesterday [March 22, 2017] in Amman, the Jordanian capital, which brought together the [PA] General Union of Palestinian Teachers and the Jordan Teachers Association under the title A Cry From Jerusalem…
Secretary-General of the [General] Union of Palestinian Teachers Saed Erzekat… said that this year the Palestinian curriculum will be printed inside Jerusalem. This is ‘because the Israeli occupier bans even bringing textbooks in to Jerusalem. We will invest efforts so that [text]books will also be printed within Jerusalem, and they will be distributed for free. We will support the resolve of the teachers and strengthen the national aspect among them, despite their salaries being more than 50% less than those of the Palestinian teachers that teach in the schools of the Israeli Ministry of Education.’"
