“[PA] Minister of Education and Higher Education Sabri Saidam called on the UN to inspect the incitement in the Israeli textbooks. This was said during a meeting between Saidam and [UN] Deputy Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process Robert Piper yesterday [March 28, 2017]. Saidam demanded the formation of a UN committee whose goal is to examine the incitement in the Israeli textbooks, particularly in light of the ongoing Israeli claims that accuse the Palestinian textbooks of incitement.
Saidam briefed Piper regarding the recommendations of the workshop that the ministry held recently on this topic. He emphasized that it is necessary to provide urgent protection to the Palestinian schools, and particularly those in Jerusalem, which are subject to processes of Israelization, Judaization, and a distortion of the contents of national identity.”
