PFLP condemns US attack in Syria
Headline: “The Popular Front condemned the American aggression against Syria”
“The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) today, Tuesday [April 7, 2017], condemned the American aggression against the Al-Shayrat airfield in Syria (see note below –Ed.), which was carried out before any sort of objective international investigation was conducted regarding the incident at Khan Sheikhoun (i.e., chemical attack in the Idlib region of Syria). It also considered the attack support for the terror whose elimination the Trump administration has claimed as one of its priorities for a long time. The Front said in a press statement that the aggression - which was carried out in full coordination with the ‘Zionist entity’ state and together with parties who are still insisting and acting to dismantle the Syrian state - is nothing but an attempt to thwart the political efforts that the UN is leading to find a political solution that will protect the unity of Syria and its people.”
The text refers to an American airstrike on March 7, 2017, in which 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles were fired at the Syrian Al-Shayrat airfield. The airstrike came as a response to a sarin gas chemical attack that killed dozens of people in Idlib on March 4, 2017, which reportedly was launched by the Syrian army from Al-Shayrat airfield.
