Preacher on PA TV: Killing the enemy “is a right,” quotes Islamic verse about stones and trees calling to kill Jews: “Oh Muslim… there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him”
Official PA TV program Our Ethics, on the impact of psychological pressure on Palestinian society from an Islamic and psychological perspective, hosting Islamic preacher Yaqub Qirsh
Islamic preacher Yaqub Qirsh: “I say to our people, the people of Palestine: Almighty Allah is giving us this test in order to grant us the greatest possessions of all, and prime among them Martyrdom-death (Shahada) in the way of Allah. Fighting the enemy is a right and killing him is a right. The pressure that they are exerting on us, praise Allah, is not like [the pressure] that is being exerted [on the people] in Syria, the people of Iraq, and the people of Libya. [There,] the killer does not know who he has killed, and the person who is killed does not know why he was killed. We people of Palestine indeed are being tested through this pressure, although [Allah] made us know why we are being killed and are killing, because we know where we are directing this pressure and we are marching to the Hereafter. If we lose this world, we won’t lose the Hereafter. It holds the true life and the divine life, and from now on we need to live that life… This pressure that the people of Palestine are dealing with through this great [Israeli] propaganda method requires wise and active publicity. It demands that we be certain that we are triumphing.
‘The Hour [of Resurrection] will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, until the stones or trees will call: “Oh Muslim, O servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him (See note below –Ed.)!’ […] The most important benefit of these honorable Hadiths is that they preserve your hope…"
The story of a stone or tree beckoning a Muslim to kill a Jew appears in numerous Islamic texts. One example is the following Hadith from the Sahih Muslim book of Hadith: “Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (Peace be upon Him) as saying: ‘The last hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them until the Jews hide behind a stone or a tree, and the stone or a tree will say: “Muslim, or servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him”; but the Gharqad tree will not say [this], for it is the tree of the Jews.’”
