Official PA daily presents convicted terrorist as ‘victim’ of Israeli prison system
Headline: “Muhammad Daoud, the oldest of the Qalqilya prisoners”
“Muhammad Adel Hassan Daoud (i.e., terrorist, murdered pregnant woman and her 5-year-old son) is known as ‘Abu Ghazi.’ He was arrested on Dec. 8, 1987, and was sentenced to a life sentence on charges of belonging to the Fatah Movement and throwing a Molotov cocktail at a car of settlers and killing 2 of them on the bypass road south of Qalqilya. One of the killed was the head of the settlement council (sic., this statement is false). After his arrest, the occupation authorities destroyed his family’s home.
Muhammad suffers from tooth pains, and some of his teeth have fallen out. He also suffers from ongoing stomach problems and strong joint pains, particularly in the knees. In addition, his psoriasis has gotten worse and he suffers from great sensitivity in his skin that causes cracks in the skin, and sometimes bleeding as well.
He lost his father and mother while behind bars, and the occupation refused to release him as part of the release actions carried out following the Oslo Accords and in the ‘Loyalty to the Free’ deal (Shalit [prisoner exchange] deal) [parentheses in source]. Wael Daoud, Muhammad’s brother, said: ‘A day before the visit, my father put several things, including pictures of us, in his pocket so as not to forget them, and they also included pictures of the new family members. In the middle of the night, before he went to the bus for the visits, my father had a heart attack, was rushed to the hospital, and died five days later. My mother also died while waiting longingly to embrace my prisoner brother when he is released to freedom. Even now his visits are greatly limited to one visit a year for several people from the family.’”
Muhammad Adel Daoud is serving a life sentence for murdering Ofra Moses, who was pregnant, and her 5-year-old son, Tal Moses, by throwing a Molotov cocktail at their car (April 11, 1987).
