PA TV: Israel a “destructive colonialist project” established through Britain’s “great fraud and deception”
Official PA TV Live program The TV Dictionary, on the Al-Fida'iya Association
“The Al-Fida'iya Association is considered the first Palestinian military association, even though the armed activity against the Zionist project began in 1886, when Palestinian residents that were thrown out of the village of Mulabbis attacked the homes of the settlers that were built on the lands of their village (i.e., Petah Tikva). The Al-Fida'iya Association began to operate in 1918, after Britain occupied Palestine. The association established branches in Palestinian cities such as Jerusalem, Gaza, Nablus, Hebron, Tulkarem, and Ramle .
Muhammad Al-Dabbagh led the organization, and afterwards he was replaced by Mahmoud Aziz Al-Khaledi, and the organization had a secret advisory council whose members included: Haj Amin Al-Husseini (i.e., Grand Mufti of Jerusalem who collaborated with Adolf Hitler), Sheikh Sa’id Al-Khatib, [and] Hassan Abu Al-Saoud … The organization operated in complete secrecy…
This organization acted to prepare the comprehensive revolution against the British occupation, and to resist the Zionist project, and was especially interested in disseminating the principles of Arab unity. The Al-Fida'iya Association provided small arms to its members and prepared lists with the names of the Zionist leaders.
[The organization] established a unit for the purpose of monitoring what was happening and being published in the press (i.e., a type of intelligence service)… and even though the general view regarding Britain at the time basically assumed that Britain was an ally of the Arabs… afterwards Britain’s great fraud and deception were exposed, which led to the establishment of a destructive colonialist project that shattered the hopes of the Arab nation, and imposed an oppressive occupation from whose disastrous results the whole region is still suffering from to this day.
It should be mentioned that some of the Arab elites, including the Palestinian [elites], noticed at an early stage the danger inherent in the British-French invasion of the region.”
Haj Amin Al-Husseini - Grand Mufti of Jerusalem at the time of the British mandate, and spiritual and a political leader of the local Arab population. He strongly opposed Zionism and was behind riots and attacks on Jews. During World War II he actively collaborated with Nazi Germany, meeting Adolf Hitler personally and recruiting Muslims for the Nazi army.
