Fatah official on terrorists' salaries: "We will not renounce the rights of the Martyrs, prisoners, and their families... because they are fighters for a just cause"
Headline: “Zaki: The rights of the prisoners and families of the Martyrs are the spearhead of the Palestinian national project”
“Fatah Movement Central Committee member [and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations] Abbas Zaki emphasized the adherence to the rights of the Martyrs (Shahids), prisoners, and their families, as they are the spearhead of the national project. In an interview with Radio Mawtini today, Wednesday [June 21, 2017], Zaki said: ‘We will not renounce the rights of the Martyrs, prisoners, and their families, and we will continue to adhere to their rights because they are fighters for a just cause.’ Zaki said that the occupation government is attempting to convince the American administration that Israel, the occupying power, is the side under attack. He added: ‘The government of [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu is instructing Washington that the Palestinian side is not a peace partner, is attempting to convince the Americans that the occupation state is the one that is under attack and that [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas is encouraging attacks against Israel, and is connecting the salaries (rawatib) of the Palestinian prisoners and the relatives of the Martyrs (Shahids) to these operations (i.e., terror attacks) [against Israel] in order to pressure the [Palestinian] leadership to stop these allowances (mukhassasat).’”
