DFLP honors terrorists as heroes devoted to “supreme national and human values”; claims Israel “holds ceremonies and places monuments” to Jewish terrorists
Headline: “The Democratic Front praised our people’s position in the victory of Martyr Khaled Nazzal”
As a justification for their glorification of terror, Palestinian leaders often falsely claim that Israel honors Jews who murder Palestinians – Ed.
“The Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) praised the ‘honorable’ position of the masses of the Palestinian people, the national forces, and institutions, towards Martyr (Shahid) Khaled Nazzal (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 31) and all of the Martyrs, which caused the Jenin Municipality to change its mind on removing the Martyr Nazzal monument.
The Front said in a notice published by its organization in the Jenin district that the fact that the municipality changed its mind constitutes a correct national decision, a victory for the status of the Martyrs, and devotion to the supreme national and human values that they represent in the hearts of our people, its history, and its memory.
It added: ‘This heroic position expresses the public unity not only around Martyr Khaled Nazzal, but around all of the Martyrs of our people and our symbols of heroism, as well as loyalty to their sacrifice, and particularly of the Martyrs and prisoners. Standing by these heroes and the support for them is a national obligation that demands that we all together continue their path and their sacrifice, and particularly after the racist attack by [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu and the American administration whose goal is to force our national movement to renounce our Martyrs and erase our national heritage.’

The Front added that Israel is carrying out the worst type of terror, which is state terror. It is also holding ceremonies and placing monuments for the worst terrorist criminals, such as Baruch Goldstein (sic., Israel has not honored Baruch Goldstein, see note below –Ed.), who carried out the Ibrahimi Mosque (i.e., Cave of the Patriarchs) massacre, and those like him, as well as the famous terrorist [former Israeli Prime Minister] Yitzhak Shamir, who was responsible for the assassination of [UN Peace Mediator] Duke [Folke] Bernadotte (i.e., a Swedish diplomat who pushed for large Israeli concessions during the 1948 War of Independence and was assassinated by the Jewish militia Lehi) and the bombing of the King David Hotel (by the Irgun pre-state Jewish militia –Ed.).”
Khaled Nazzal – Secretary of the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine (DFLP), and commander of its military branch. He was responsible for terrorists taking school children as hostages and murdering 22 children and 4 adults in Ma’alot (May 15, 1974), the murder of 4 hostages in an apartment building in Beit Shean (Nov. 19, 1974), and a shooting and grenade attack in central Jerusalem in which 1 was murdered and 47 others were wounded (April 2, 1984).
Cave of the Patriarchs massacre - On Feb. 25, 1994, Baruch Goldstein, a member of an Israeli far-right movement, opened fire on Muslims praying inside the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron, known to Muslims as the "Ibrahimi Mosque," killing 29 and wounding 125. Following the attack, which was widely condemned by Israeli leaders and Jewish communities abroad, the Israeli government took concrete steps to prevent similar attacks from occurring by dividing the area of worship into Muslim and Jewish sections and designating several extremist movements, including Goldstein’s, as illegal terrorist groups.
