PA daily refers to three terrorists who murdered 1 as “Martyrs”
Headline: "The occupation changed the name of a street in Jerusalem to 'memorialize' its army's murderers"
"A group of settlers, accompanied by police and what is called the 'border police' of the Israeli army (sic., part of the Israeli police), changed the name of Sultan Suleiman Street in Jerusalem to Heroines Street in honor of the Israeli army's murderers, according to what Hebrew websites published yesterday, Friday [June 23, 2017]. These websites noted that a group of settlers changed the name of the street adjacent to Damascus Gate in Jerusalem to memorialize two female soldiers (sic., policewomen) [Hadar Cohen and Hadas Malka] from what is called the 'border police' of the Israeli army (sic., as above), who were killed in stabbing and shooting operations that took place next to the Damascus Gate. The most recent was the operation that took place last Friday [June 16, 2017], in which 3 young people [Bara Saleh, Adel Ankoush, and Osama Ata] (i.e., terrorists, murdered 1) died as Martyrs (Shahids)."
This apparently refers to a request by bereaved Israeli families that was sent to the Jerusalem municipality, asking that the name of Sultan Suleiman Street be renamed after Hadas Malka, who was murdered on June 17, 2017. This was reported on the Israeli army radio station on June 26, 2017.
Ahmad Najah Abu Al-Rub, Ahmad Zakarneh and Muhammad Kmeil - Three Palestinian terrorists in their early 20's who shot and stabbed two Israeli police officers at the Damascus Gate in Jerusalem on Feb. 3, 2016, murdering 19-year-old Hadar Cohen. The second officer was seriously wounded. The terrorists attacked the policewomen after they were asked for identification. They carried machine guns, knives, and pipe bombs, leading the police to suspect they were planning a mass attack against civilians. The terrorists were shot and killed at the scene by Israeli police.
Bara Saleh, Adel Ankoush, Osama Ata – three Palestinian terrorists who carried out a terror attack in Jerusalem on June 16, 2017. Two of the terrorists, one armed with an automatic weapon and the other with a knife, attacked Israeli police officers north of the Old City of Jerusalem. Seconds later a third terrorist stabbed and murdered Israeli border policewoman Hadas Malka, 23, at the Old City’s Damascus Gate as she and other officers were responding to the first attack. All three terrorists were shot and killed by the Israeli officers. Aside from Malka, four Israelis were wounded in the attack. ISIS initially claimed responsibility for the attack but Hamas rejected the claim, saying the terrorists were members of Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP).
