Abbas condemns terror “whatever its form and source may be” in press conference with French president

“[PA] President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized the importance of France’s role in supporting the peacemaking efforts in the region. In a joint press conference with his French counterpart [French President] Emmanuel Macron, which was held yesterday evening [July 5, 2017], …he emphasized: ‘Our choice is the two-state solution according to the 1967 borders, that the Israeli occupation of our land will end, that our people will receive its freedom and its independence in its state whose capital is East Jerusalem, and that all of the permanent agreement issues will be solved according to the decisions of the international institutions and the Arab Peace Initiative.’
The president condemned terror, whatever its form and source may be. He emphasized that Palestine supports every international and regional effort for its eradication in our region and in the world, and that the State of Palestine is part of the collective international effort to [make] war on all forms of terror and extremism.”
