Fatah official on Lebanese TV: Terrorists “could have killed 20 Israelis” but chose the Temple Mount which has “dangerous significance”; shows a “failure of the political path”
YouTube channel of Lebanese Al-Mayadeen TV, interview with Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki
Fatah Central Committee member and Fatah Commissioner for Arab and China Relations Abbas Zaki: "The source of this operation (i.e., terror attack at the Temple Mount on July 14, 2017, 2 murdered; see note below) is in the depths of the '48 territories (i.e., Israel), from Umm Al-Fahm, by people that hold Israeli identity cards, and they know the changes that are taking place within Israel better than anyone…
These young people, instead of coming from Umm Al-Fahm to Jerusalem, could have killed 20 Israelis, but they chose Friday, and chose that their spirits would ascend to Paradise from the place where Prophet [Muhammad] ascended to Heaven, and this has dangerous significance…
In a situation where there is a void in national activity and failure of the political path, nobody can stop people who want to die…
I foresee that we are standing before a severe eruption. It is impossible to know how this eruption will manifest . Whether we condemn or support [it is irrelevant]; the operation was carried out by people from the '48 territories who have Israeli identity cards…
The situation is continuing to develop [dangerously] because in the past people had hope that there is a possibility of achieving peace, but for the first time an American president comes who carries out Jewish religious ceremonies at the Al-Buraq Wall which he called the Wailing Wall (i.e., the Western Wall of the Temple Mount). True, none [of the Israeli leaders] accompanied him (Western Wall Chief Rabbi Shmuel Rabinowitz accompanied him –Ed.), but he put on a kippah (Jewish skullcap( and acted according to Jewish custom there. This is a very severe matter."
Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Jabarin, Muhammad Hamed Abd Al-Latif Jabarin, and Muhammad Ahmad Mufaddal Jabarin - Israeli Arab terrorists aged 29, 19, and 19, who shot from the Temple Mount at Israeli policemen, murdering 2 Israeli Druze border policemen - Haiel Stawi and Kamil Shnaan, on July 14, 2017. Two of the terrorists were shot and killed by other policemen during the attack. The third terrorist was shot and killed while trying to flee.
