Palestinian National and Islamic Forces call for "day of escalation" against Israel

“The [Palestinian] National and Islamic Forces in the Ramallah and El-Bireh District yesterday [July 22, 2017] made a plan of escalation activities on the ground, in response to the occupation’s crimes in Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque (refers to Israel placing metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple Mount following a terror attack there on July 14, 2017, in which 2 Israelis were murdered; see note below –Ed.). They called on the public and prominent figures to participate in [the escalation activities] in their masses.
At the end of a meeting of its leaders yesterday in Ramallah, the forces declared a comprehensive day of escalation against the occupation and settlers throughout the district, in its villages, on the roads, and on the routes.”
Palestinian National and Islamic Forces - an unaffiliated coordinating body comprised of representatives from factions in the PLO and outside the PLO. The Palestinian National and Islamic Forces were established in 2000 shortly after the start of the PA terror campaign (the second Intifada, 2000-2005), under the authorization of Yasser Arafat and the leadership of terrorist Marwan Barghouti. During the PA terror campaign it played an active role in coordinating political efforts and terror attacks against Israel, but since the end of the campaign it has been less significant and its activity is primarily centered in Gaza.
Muhammad Ahmad Muhammad Jabarin, Muhammad Hamed Abd Al-Latif Jabarin, and Muhammad Ahmad Mufaddal Jabarin - Israeli Arab terrorists aged 29, 19, and 19, who shot from the Temple Mount at Israeli policemen, murdering 2 Israeli Druze border policemen - Haiel Stawi and Kamil Shnaan, on July 14, 2017. Two of the terrorists were shot and killed by other policemen during the attack. The third terrorist was shot and killed while trying to flee.
