Palestinians in Iraq under “incitement’ campaign following publication of statistics that 12% of suicide bombers in Iraq were Palestinian
Headline: “The Palestinians in Iraq demanded that the PA ambassador in Baghdad intervene to stop the incitement against them”
“Palestinians living in Iraq expressed their concern over an incitement campaign against their presence in Iraq, in parallel to what the Palestinians are experiencing in Jerusalem and at the Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Israeli occupation.
On several social media [websites] in Iraq, a large number of Iraqis have begun attacking the Palestinians and expressing their support for the occupation against the Palestinian people, on the pretext that they are the main reason for the deaths as Martyrs (Shahids) of their sons in terror bombings. Some of the participants in the incitement campaign held the Palestinians responsible for this, and published false names as if they were Palestinians.
These accusations came in response to statistics that the Iraqi Ministry of Interior presented regarding the number of suicide [bombers] in Iraq and their citizenship, which has caused great shock in the Palestinian community in Baghdad because the number of Palestinian suicide [bombers] who blew themselves up in Baghdad and the rest of the Iraqi districts reached 12.1 [percent] between 2007 and 2013.”
