"The Hamas Movement announced that a delegation of top officials that is visiting Tehran, the capital of Iran, held two separate meetings today (Monday) [Aug. 7, 2017] with [Iranian] Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif and with Ali Akbar Velayati, the advisor of Iranian [Supreme] Leader [Ayatollah Ali Khamenei]. The movement said in a notice… that its delegation met with Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Javad Zarif, and that the two sides confirmed that '[We] have turned over a new leaf in bilateral relations in order to fight the joint enemy and support Palestine, the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the resistance.' Hamas' notice quoted the Iranian minister of foreign affairs who emphasized that his state will maintain 'the relations between it and the Palestinian factions, and primarily Hamas, and will continue to support the Palestinian resistance.’…
In a separate meeting, the Hamas delegation met with Ali Akbar Velayati, the advisor of Iranian [Supreme] Leader Ali Khamenei… Velayati noted that Teheran stands alongside Hamas, as it was and still is a main supporter of the Palestinian people and its resistance."
