PLO official: “The relations between North Korea and the PLO have existed for dozens of years”

Headline: “Majdalani: If they want to make something out of Mahmoud Abbas’ greetings to North Korea, that is their affair”
“The Hebrew (i.e., Israeli) newspaper Haaretz said that at the height of the crisis between North Korea and the US, Palestinian [PA] President Mahmoud Abbas yesterday, Tuesday [Aug. 15, 2017], sent a greeting telegram to [North] Korean Leader Kim Jong-un for [Korea’s] Liberation Day that was recently celebrated in Pyongyang… PLO Executive Committee member [and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF)] Dr. Ahmed Majdalani told the newspaper Haaretz that ‘The relations between North Korea and the PLO have existed for dozens of years, North Korea has recognized the State of Palestine since 1988, and there is a Palestinian embassy there. Therefore, we are not part of this conflict and our position will not be determined by the American position. This is a telegram that the president has been sending for many years to the leader of North Korea, and whoever wants to exploit this in order to invent a crisis, that is their affair.’”
