Prisoner Khaled Al-Shawish (i.e., terrorist, orchestrated murder of 2), three gunshots that paralyzed him, Yasser Arafat’s refusal to hand him over to the occupation, and [PA] President Yasser Arafat told the Americans: ‘The fool does not know that I will not hand over my generals’
Ninety minutes of an uninterrupted meeting between Martyr (Shahid) Yasser Arafat and American Envoy [Anthony] Zinni during the famous siege of Yasser Arafat’s Muqata’a (i.e., the PA’s headquarters, put under siege during the counter-terror Operation Defensive Shield) ended, and President Arafat said goodbye to General Zinni and the door was locked and barricaded. Yasser Arafat checked the security arrangements well, expressed his recommendations and comments about them, and shouted: ‘Where is General Khaled Abu Shawish?’ Abu Shawish is one of the great generals of [Fatah’s military wing] the Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades, and he was wounded during the invasion of Ramallah by three live gunshots that directly hit the spinal cord and caused him full paralysis in his four limbs… Yasser Arafat entered the room of Abu Shawish, who groaned from his strong pains and shouted that he wanted to go out to fight. Yasser Arafat saluted General Khaled, as he called him, and lay on his gaunt body not minding some of the secretions that dirtied his military uniform, hugged him longingly, and said: ‘We will win, O Khaled, or we will die as Martyrs, and this is the great victory. This fool (in other words, Zinni) [parentheses in source] came to me and wanted me to hand over my generals and agree to a ceasefire. O Khaled, can you believe that while we are besieged here, in Nablus, in Jenin, in Bethlehem, and in all of the West Bank, they are asking me, Yasser Arafat, to agree to a ceasefire?’”

Khaled Al-Shawish - serving 11 life sentences for orchestrating the murder of Israeli citizens Binyamin and Talia Kahane in 2000 and for involvement in suicide bombings and shootings of Israeli citizens.
Operation Defensive Shield - a large Israeli military operation in April 2002 in response to the many suicide bombings during PA terror campaign (the second Intifada, 2000-2005). Israel put Arafat under siege and invaded six of the largest West Bank cities in an attempt to destroy the terror infrastructure.
