Fatah spokesman in Jerusalem implies that Israel’s actions are similar to those of ISIS
“Fatah Movement leader [and Spokesman in Jerusalem] Raafat Alayan emphasized that the battles taking place in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon between ISIS and armed men and the Fatah fighters are no different than the battles that the residents of the holy city [of Jerusalem] are waging against the Israeli occupation forces. He also emphasized that the goal is the same goal, even if the means are different. Alayan noted that what is being carried out in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp by ISIS and armed men is meant to eradicate the Palestinian refugees’ issue, as happened at the Al-Yarmouk [refugee] camp in Syria. Simultaneously, what is being carried out in Jerusalem by the occupation government is meant to eradicate the Palestinian dream of establishing a Palestinian state, and this is a comprehensive plan that is directed against the national basic principles.”
On August 17, 2017, a coalition of the Fatah Movement and other Palestinian armed groups launched a military operation in the Ain Al-Hilweh refugee camp in Lebanon to drive the ISIS affiliated Bilal Al-Arqub terrorist group out of the camp.
