District Advisor for Old City Affairs Nidal Al-Ja'abari emphasized the connection of Palestinian society to its historical roots, whose source is thousands of years on this land… Head of the Hebron Directorate Atef Al-Jamal referred to Hebron’s history… and said: ‘This area, where Palestinian Heritage Week has been opened, will remain Palestinian, Arab, and Islamic despite the occupation’s attacks and its attempts to Judaize it in various ways. This is a cultural and human heritage that our Palestinian forefathers have created for thousands of years. We must protect and defend it from the fabrication [of history].’”
