Students at the Palestinian Al-Quds Open University (Dura branch) were welcomed this week at a reception for new students by a large banner teaching them who Palestinian "heroes" are. Students looked up to see a huge banner on stage with pictures of founders and heads of terror organizations who are responsible for the deaths of many hundreds of Israelis:
  • Abu Ali Mustafa, head of PLFP
  • Fathi Shaqaqi, founder of Islamic Jihad
  • Ahmad Yassin, founder of Hamas
  • Yasser Arafat, former PLO and PA Chairman
  • Salah Khalaf, head of Black September
  • Abu Jihad, head of the PLO terror organization's military wing
Ahmad Yassin was the founder and leader of Hamas and was responsible for dozens of suicide bombings on buses, on streets and in cafés in which hundreds of Israelis were murdered.

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks in the 1960's - 1980's. These attacks, which murdered a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and murder of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.

Salah Khalaf headed the terror organization Black September, a secret branch of Fatah established by Yasser Arafat. Attacks he planned included the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972) and the murder of two American diplomats in Sudan (March 1, 1973).

(See more information on all the terrorists below.)

The banner at Al-Quds Open University included the logo of the university's branch of Fatah's student movement Shabiba that includes the slogan: "
From the sea of blood of the Martyrs (Shahids) we will create a state," as well as the PA map of "Palestine" that presents all of Israel as "Palestine" together with the PA areas in the colors of the Palestinian flag. The logo of Al-Quds Open University also appeared on the banner, next to an additional PA map of "Palestine" in the colors of the Palestinian flag.

Recently,
Palestinian Media Watch documented that Fatah's youth movement Shabiba had distributed a diary to high school students in Bethlehem, which likewise featured photos of arch-terrorists Abu Jihad and Salah Khalaf.

Al-Quds Open University also helps terrorists imprisoned in Israel circumvent Israeli law which prohibits university programs for terrorists in prison as they constitute a reward for terror. However, Al-Quds Open University runs an organized program in cooperation with the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Education, and last year PMW reported that
484 terrorist prisoners were studying for BA degrees in Al-Quds Open University's program.

Fatah official Jamal Muhaisen was one of the speakers at the event. Muhaisen
delegitimizes Israel's right to exist and is in favor of the "struggle to defend the sites that are holy to Islam," which usually means support for violence and terror.

The following is the posted text on the official Fatah Facebook page, and on the Facebook page of Fatah Central Committee member Jamal Muhaisen

Posted text:"Pictures: Fatah Movement General Commissioner of Mobilization and Organization [in the West Bank and Fatah Central Committee member] Dr. Jamal Muhaisen participates in a reception for the new students at Al-Quds Open University's Dura branch."

Six photos appear on the poster, showing from left to right: former Secretary-General of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist organization Abu Ali Mustafa, founder of the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization Fathi Shaqaqi, founder of the Hamas terrorist organization Ahmed Yassin, former PLO and PA Chairman Yasser Arafat, former head of the Black September terrorist organization Salah Khalaf, and former head of the PLO terrorist organization's military wing Khalil Al-Wazir - Abu Jihad - who headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and was responsible for the murder of 125 Israelis.

The second picture shows Jamal Muhaisen speaking on the same stage at a podium draped with the Palestinian flag, in front of the same poster.

Jamal Muhaisen also serves as a PLO Central Council member.

Abu Ali Mustafa - Secretary-General of the terror organization Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). The PFLP, which rejected the Oslo Accords (1993), has planned and carried out numerous terror attacks against Israeli civilians since its founding in 1967 and throughout the Palestinian terror campaign between 2000-2005 (the Intifada).

Fathi Shaqaqi - Founder of the terrorist organization Islamic Jihad, which has carried out more than 1,000 terror attacks, murdering and wounding hundreds of Israeli civilians. He was killed by Israel in Malta in 1995.

Ahmed Yassin - Founder and former head of the terrorist organization Hamas. The Hamas movement is responsible for hundreds of terror attacks and the deaths of hundreds of Israeli civilians.

Salah Khalaf (Abu Iyad) - PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat's deputy, one of the founders of Fatah, and head of the terror organization Black September, a secret branch of Fatah. Attacks he planned include the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972) and the murder of two American diplomats in Sudan (March 1, 1973). It is commonly assumed that his assassin, a former Fatah bodyguard, was sent by the Abu Nidal Organization, a rival Palestinian faction.

Abu Jihad (Khalil Al-Wazir) - was a founder of Fatah and deputy to Yasser Arafat. He headed the PLO terror organization's military wing and also planned many deadly Fatah terror attacks in the 1960's - 1980's. These attacks, which murdered a total of 125 Israelis, included the most lethal in Israeli history - the hijacking of a bus and murder of 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
