Killer of 37 "wrote most glorious page of history"
Elias Khouri, editorial writer:
"The question that arises, following the [Hamas’s] mandating of the long gown (jalabiya) in Gaza, is not a religious -legal question, but rather a political-social one... We are therefore facing a political decision to enforce the headscarf (hijab). This is a decision that splits the unity of Palestinian society…
Dalal Mughrabi wrote the most glorious page of heroism in the history of the Palestinian struggle, yet her face was uncovered, and she wore the keffiyeh (Arab headdress) of the revolution around her neck.”
Note: Dalal Mughrabi led the most lethal terror attack in Israel’s history in 1978, when she and other terrorists hijacked a bus and killed 37 civilians, 12 of them children.
