The Hamas Movement explained through its spokesman Hazem Qassem that the Israeli occupation is deluding itself if it thinks that the fact that it is holding the bodies of the tunnel Martyrs will enable it to change the position of the Palestinian resistance…
Qassem added: ‘We will continue to hold all the means of power that will enable us to defend our people, as the resistance is continuing its path until the realization of our people’s goals, which are the liberation and return [of the refugees].’”
On Oct. 30, 2017, Israel destroyed a tunnel that infiltrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip, which was being built by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terror organization. Eight Palestinians - who were in Israeli territory at the time - were killed in the tunnel when it was destroyed, including PIJ commander Arafat Abu Murshid and his deputy, Hassan Abu Hassanein. The bodies of the terrorists are being held by Israel as of November 2017.
