PLO official: Taylor Force Act proves US is biased in Israel’s favor; “The allowances of the families of the Martyrs and prisoners are a red line, and they cannot be harmed”
Headline: “Abu Yusuf: The allowances of the families of the Martyrs and prisoners are a red line and they cannot be harmed”
“Secretary-General of the Palestinian Liberation Front and PLO Executive Committee member Wasel Abu Yusuf emphasized that the fact that the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the American House of Representatives passed the law stopping the financial aid to the PA if it pays allowances (mukhassasat) to prisoners (i. e., the Taylor Force Act, which passed the committee on Nov. 15, 2017) unequivocally proves that it is biased and is adopting the occupation’s positions. He also emphasized that the allowances of the families of the Martyrs and prisoners are a red line, and they cannot be harmed.
Abu Yusuf… noted that the Palestinian position is completely clear – the money to which the families of the Martyrs and prisoners are eligible cannot be harmed…
Abu Yusuf said that consultations are being held from within the occupation state regarding legislation of a law to deduct the money that is paid to the families of the Martyrs and prisoners from the PA tax money. He emphasized that the fact that the law of the Committee on Foreign Affairs in Congress [was a dvanced] at the same time as the occupation’s law proves that the American administration has adopted hostile positions towards the Palestinian people and its struggle against the occupation.
He also noted that the reckless attempts by the US to legislate laws that are biased in favor of the occupation prove that it is not a neutral side in the Arab-Israeli conflict.”
