PLO Chief Negotiator: “By recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel” the US is “pushing the region… into the furnace of violence, chaos, extremism, and bloodshed”

PLO Executive Committee Secretary, Fatah Central Committee member, and PLO Chief Negotiator Saeb Erekat: "If the US dictates the fate of Jerusalem before the negotiations on the matter – whether by transferring the embassy [to Jerusalem], or what is even more dangerous, by recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel – this means the end of the entire peace process and the pushing of the region – with its peoples and borders – into the furnace of violence, chaos, extremism, and bloodshed."
