Abbas: US embassy move or US recognition of Jerusalem as Israeli capital "constitutes a threat to the future of the political process”
Official PA TV News, on PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' statements about the US intention to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and move its embassy to the city, made during a meeting with a delegation of the Israeli Arab political party Hadash.
Official PA TV newsreader: "[PA] President [Mahmoud] Abbas says that the American move connected to recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of Israel or transferring the American embassy to Jerusalem constitutes a threat to the future of the political process, and that it has encountered Palestinian, Arab, and international opposition. This was said during a reception for a delegation of [the Israeli political party Hadash -] the Democratic Front for Peace and Equality at the [PA] presidential headquarters, during which he briefed them on the policy developments and efforts being invested to realize national unity [between Fatah and Hamas]."
