Fatah official: “If the Palestinian cause is eliminated, then Israel will spread its flag from the Nile [River] to the Euphrates [River]”
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on the role of Palestinian women in protesting against US President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, hosting Fatah Revolutionary Council member Salwa Hadib
Fatah Revolutionary Council member Salwa Hadib: “[The occupation] has received a strong push and support from the American decision [to recognize Jerusalem as Israel’s capital]. We are in Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) and a struggle with [the Israelis] until Judgment Day… What pains me the most is the Arab disregard. I hope that all of the Arab governments will be coordinated… We need a lot more Arab and Islamic popular protest, and we need the Arab governments to make their voices heard, because we are defending – we in Palestine are the defenders of the entire Arab homeland. If the Palestinian cause is eliminated, then Israel will spread its flag from the Nile [River] to the Euphrates [River] and will reach the borders of the most distant Arab states, and this is what we’re warning against.”
US recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel - On Dec. 6, 2017, US President Donald Trump formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and instructed the State Department to begin preparations to transfer the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Trump added that the final borders of Jerusalem will be determined during negotiations.
