Excerpt of an editorial by the official PA daily

Headline: “Incitement – the nonsense of racism”

“Only the arrogance of racism causes US President Donald Trump’s administration to think that there is no one in the world who n eeds to say ‘No’ to the American policy. The shock that this arrogance absorbed was that this word was indeed spoken, and that the president of a state that is still under occupation… is the one that said it to this administration in the clearest and most emphatic manner!

Starting with [US Envoy Jason] Greenblatt and ending with [US Ambassador to the UN Nikki] Haley, the illusion of the racist arrogance i s growing like cancerous growths grow…
US Representative [to the UN Nikki Haley], for whom it is not right and unbefitting to fulfill any role other than the one in charge of the Guantanamo detention camp, wants for the Palestinian people a leadership ‘that will recognize the hard facts’ – in other words, that will relinquish Jerusalem, the rights of the refugees, and everything that will lead to the free and independent State of Palestine! The reality is that this representative [Haley] needs to recognize the simple and exposed Palestinian facts: The Palestinian people, with its just resolve, cannot accept this type of leadership – not even as a passing thought… There is no security, peace, stability, or sovereignty without the State of Palestine whose capital is East Jerusalem, while ensuring a just solution to the problem of the refugees according to UN Resolution 194 and the Arab Peace Initiative.”

UN Resolution 194 (Chapter 11, Dec. 11, 1948) states that "the refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbors should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return." Palestinian leaders argue this means that all Arabs who left Israel during the war (hundreds of thousands) and their descendants (a few million) have a "right of return" to Israel. Israel argues that the resolution only calls for a limited return and only under certain conditions, especially focusing on the words "wishing to return... and live at peace with their neighbors."
