Fatah's Bethlehem branch honored terrorist Raed Al-Karmi who was responsible for the murders of 9 Israelis during the PA's terror campaign, 2000-2005 (the second Intifada). In several posts on Facebook, Fatah posted photos of the terrorist wearing a military uniform and brandishing assault rifles. The photo above was posted with text in which Fatah highlights "the killing of more than 126 Zionists," and refers to the many murders of Israelis during the terror campaign:

When Raed Al-Karmi died as a Martyr (Shahid), the response to his assassination was the killing of more than 126 Zionists and the wounding of many of them by bullets of the Raed Al-Karmi squads of the Fatah Movement Al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades
Praise to the Martyrs who are more precious than all of us together"

In another post glorifying Al-Karmi, Fatah also honored two of the planners of the Olympic massacre of Israeli athletes in Munich in 1972:
The image shows terrorists Salah Khalaf and Fakhri Al-Omari of the Black September terror organization that murdered 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972, and Raed Al-Karmi, and Hayel Abd Al-Hamid (clockwise from the top). Al-Karmi is carrying an assault rifle.

One of Fatah's branches' football teams, named after a different terrorist, organized a championship in the honor of terrorist Al-Karmi and the anniversary of his Martyrdom-death. An article in the official PA daily included a photo of the winning team, posing with a sign featuring a picture of terrorist Raed Al-Karmi holding an assault rifle.

Palestinian Media Watch has documented similar praise for terrorist Al-Karmi and the Munich Olympics massacre by Fatah in the past as well as the PA and Fatah's praise for terror and promotion of violence in general.

The following is the report in the official PA daily on the tournament:

Headline: "Qaffin is the winner of the Martyr Raed Al-Karmi Championship"
"The Southern Neighborhood team of the Martyr Dr. Thabet Thabet (i.e., terrorist, responsible for many terror attacks against Israelis) branch [of Fatah] organized a championship to mark the anniversary of the death as a Martyr of the Eagle of the [Al-Aqsa Martyrs'] Brigades (i.e., Fatah's military wing) Martyr Raed Al-Karmi (i.e., terrorist, responsible for murder of 9). The championship took place in the Tulkarem Culture Club hall with the participation of 14 teams. The knights of the Stars of Qaffin won first place, while the Tulkarem Refugee Camp reached second place, and the Southern Neighborhood third place."

Raed Al-Karmi was a senior Tanzim (Fatah terror faction) operative and responsible for the murder of 9 Israelis in several attacks: Etgar Zeituni and Motti Dayan on Jan. 23, 2001; Zvi Shelef on May 31, 2001; Danny Yehuda on June 18, 2001; Elie Na'aman on July 4, 2001; Dov Roseman on Aug. 26, 2001; Hananya Ben Avraham on Oct. 5, 2001; soldier Yaniv Levy on Aug. 28, 2001 and Israeli army officer Erez Merhavi on Sept. 6, 2001. Al-Karmi was killed by the Israeli army on Jan. 14, 2002.

Salah Khalaf (Abu Iyad) - PLO Chairman Yasser Arafat's deputy, one of the founders of Fatah, and head of the terror organization Black September, a secret branch of Fatah. Attacks he planned include the murder of 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics (Sept. 5, 1972) and the murder of two American diplomats in Sudan (March 1, 1973). It is commonly assumed that his assassin, a former Fatah bodyguard, was sent by the Abu Nidal Organization, a rival Palestinian faction.

Fakhri Al-Omari - Fatah member and a founding member of the Black September terror organization, a secret branch of Fatah, and top aide to Salah Khalaf, one of the founders of Fatah and the head of Black September. Fatah has credited Al-Omari with being the one who conceived the idea of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre in which 11 Israeli Olympic athletes were murdered, and stated that he participated in its planning. Al-Omari and Salah Khalaf were assassinated on Jan. 14, 1991 by Khalaf's bodyguard, who it is commonly assumed was recruited to do so by the Abu Nidal Organization, a rival Palestinian faction.

Thabet Thabet - one of the founders of Tanzim (Fatah terror faction) in Tulkarem. Thabet was responsible for many shooting attacks against Israelis at the start of the 2000-2005 PA terror campaign (the second Intifada). Thabet was killed by the Israeli army on Dec. 31, 2000.
