PA Ministry of Education establishes task force dedicated to “defending the national schoolbooks from the incitement and slander campaigns that the occupation is waging”

      “The [PA] Ministry of Education and Higher Education has announced the establishment of a crisis management team that includes the Ministry of Education, the [PLO] National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science, the Teacher’s Union, the [Palestinian] Journalists’ Syndicate, and the National Committee for Education Reform, in order to repel the attack of the occupation and its supporters against the schoolbooks.
This announcement was conveyed as part of a meeting that [PA] Deputy Minister of Education Dr. Basri Saleh held yesterday [Feb. 8, 2018] in his office with Secretary-General of the National Committee for Education, Culture, and Science Murad Al-Sudani, Director of the [Palestinian] Journalists’ Syndicate Nasser Abu Bakr, National Committee for Education Reform member Aref Al-Husseini, and member of the Teacher’s Union General Secretariat Hilmi Hamdan, and in the presence of Director of the Schoolbooks Center Tharwat Zaid. At this meeting, means for defending the national schoolbooks from the incitement and slander campaigns that the occupation is waging were examined.
[Deputy Minister of Education] Saleh emphasized the role of these partner institutions, their pivotal influence, and their cooperation with the Ministry of Education in order to repel the malicious attack that the occupation and its supporters are waging in order to harm the national schoolbooks and attempt to portray them as having an inciting nature. He also again emphasized that the occupation and its injustice are nothing but the product of its schoolbooks and education.”
