PA PM: “Israel… is still attempting to falsify and fabricate history" through actions whose goal is to "strengthen its hold on the sites holy to Islam and Christianity” in Jerusalem
Headline: "Hamdallah: The fact that Israel is not required to give any accounting [for its actions] has encouraged it to continue the Judaization of Jerusalem"
"[PA] Prime Minister Dr. Rami Hamdallah said: 'We have already emphasized and continue to emphasize that Jerusalem is a red line that we will not allow anyone to cross. This city is the cradle of the monotheistic religions, the focus of revelation and divine spirit, the place to which the gazes of all Muslims and Christians are drawn. Israel has and is still attempting to falsify and fabricate history through violations and actions whose goal is to steal the land from its legal owners, and to strengthen its hold on the sites holy to Islam and Christianity.'
Hamdallah added: ‘The fact that the international community continues its thundering silence in the face of what is happening in Palestine, and particularly in Jerusalem, feeds these Israeli aspirations and enlarges them, and will lead to the conflict becoming a religious conflict, whose outcome no one can predict.
Israel has deepened its occupation, which has weighed on our land, its resources, and its holy sites for the last 69 ongoing years of oppression, injustice, and aggression, and has continued its intolerance and racism. Throughout these decades, it has not been required to give an accounting [for its actions] or been punished, and that is what encourages it to continue committing its crimes and to continue violating international law and the principles of human rights.' Hamdallah said this in a speech before the International Forum on Jerusalem Endowments held yesterday, Monday [May 8, 2017], in Istanbul, Turkey, in the presence of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan."
