PA Foreign Ministry accuses Israel of allowing soldiers to indiscriminately shoot innocent Palestinians
Headline: "The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates: The closing of the false investigations of the death as a Martyr (Shahid) of the boy [Mahmoud] Badran necessitates expediting the petition to the International Criminal Court"
"[The PA Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates] explained that these decisions of the [Israeli] Military Advocate General [to close the investigations] constitute clear proof of the Israeli military establishment's disregard for the lives of the Palestinians, especially in light of the instructions of the political echelon, which allow the soldiers to shoot at Palestinians based on the soldiers' considerations and their personal assessments. It noted that the decisions to close the investigation files against the murderer soldiers convey a dangerous message to the occupation soldiers and open the door wide to additional murderer soldiers, as there will never be anything to rein them in and forbid them from aiming their gunfire at the chest of the innocent members of our people."
Mahmoud Rafat Badran – 15-year-old Palestinian who was accidentally shot and killed on June 21, 2016, on Route 443 between Jerusalem and Modiin, by an Israeli soldier who shot at the car he was traveling in with his family while soldiers were chasing other Palestinians who had injured an Israeli and 2 tourists by throwing rocks at their cars. On June 11, 2018, the Israeli Military Advocate General announced that the file was closed and that the soldiers would not be indicted because the soldier’s actions were reasonable under the circumstances.
