Saddam Hussein - the greatest Martyr
Poet Murad Al-Sudani at Yasser Arafat memorial ceremony at the Ramallah Cultural Palace:
"In [Arafat's] heart and in his spirit there converged the image of the Shahid (Martyr) heroes, from Abd Al-Qader Al-Husseini (Arab commander in the 1948 war), all the fedayeen (self-sacrificing fighter, someone prepared to die for a cause) over a hundred years - all of these were multiplied in the spirit of this fighter, just as they were multiplied in the spirits of the Shahids (Martyrs) who preceded him, from the members of the [Fatah] Central Committee, members of the Palestinian Revolution and the Arab Shahids up until the last of them - the leader Saddam Hussein, the greatest Shahid. They shall remain as a crown and as a symbol in the skies of the Arab resistance in their struggle against the forces of world arrogance and against Zionist racism which is protected by the nuclear totem."
