“Director of [PLO] Commission of Prisoners and Released Prisoners' Affairs Major General Qadri Abu Bakr said that the support for the prisoners is continuing until the occupation’s prisons are free of prisoners without exception, and that the commission will continue its work in order to provide its services to the released prisoners in accordance with the laws and regulations, and without prejudice… Abu Bakr added that the Israeli government is implementing a policy of medical neglect that is escalating to the point of imposing heavy punishments on the sick prisoners by not providing them with medical treatments and disregarding their health and lives, which turns their situation into a dangerous situation… He also emphasized the graveness of what the child prisoners are being subjected to in the Israeli prisons: the policy of torture and abuse and the degrading treatment during their imprisonment and interrogation, and unjust trials, and the effect of this on the children’s natural development from an educational, psychological, and social perspective.”
