Op-ed in PA daily accuses Israelis of poisoning Palestinians with spoiled food
Excerpt of an op-ed by Muwaffaq Matar, Fatah Revolutionary Council member and regular columnist for the official PA daily
Headline: "The traitors' poison on the tables of the poor!"
"Spoiled fish, eggs, and red meat, canned goods and food products that have expired. These are the weapons of the occupiers and settlers, who are using collaborators, traitors, and spies, and preparing the groundwork for committing massacres, if not for the alertness of the Palestinian [PA] Security Forces. The criminal Hebrew speaking suppliers and the Arabic speaking importers will not stop infiltrating our Palestinian markets with these fatal weapons as long as we do not prepare our internal arena to resist them, deter them, and eradicate their overt and covert gangs and uproot them, whatever the price may be. The criminals will continue to go further and further as long as unique courts are not established, like those that examine, judge, and impose penalties for treason to the nation and espionage, as we are standing here before a crime whose consequences are no less than crimes of treason and espionage, which – before the discovery and arrest of those involved – lead to the death of decent and innocent civilians."
