“The Palestinian National Liberation Movement Fatah called on its members worldwide and those who can to come to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) there and in its gates, as resistance to the new Israeli crime that was expressed in the closing [of the Al-Aqsa Mosque] to its owners and believers (refers to temporary closure of Temple Mount during s earch for accomplices after an attempted stabbing attack; see note below –Ed.)… Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Ambassador and Representative in Palestine Ahmed Al-Ruweidi said that the occupation is plotting against the Al-Aqsa Mosque and is waiting for any incident in order to close it and prevent the Muslims – who have the exclusive right to the Al-Aqsa Mosque – from praying there freely. He added: ‘We recognize one authority over the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that is the authority of the Islamic Waqf. It is our right to pray there freely without the occupation and its security forces preventing us from that.’”
