Abbas Advisor on Religious Affairs calls US President Trump’s Middle East peace plan “suspicious,” says it “negates the Palestinians’ right to their land,” refers to Israeli settlements as “cancer”

"Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine, [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, [and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice] Mahmoud Al-Habbash gave Ivory Coast President Alassane Ouattara a letter from President Mahmoud Abbas that deals with the situation in Palestine and with the bilateral relations between the countries, and this was during a meeting held in the capital Abidjan…
Al-Habbash emphasized during the meeting that the Palestinian leadership, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, continues to oppose all of the suspicious plans and initiatives that the US and Israel are leading in order to eliminate the Palestinian cause through what is called ‘the deal of the century’ (i.e., refers to US President Donald Trump’s as yet unpublished Middle East peace plan) which negates the Palestinians’ right to their land and to establish their independent state whose capital is Jerusalem, expropriates the Palestinians’ right of return to their land, and swallows up what is left of the Palestinian territories for the benefit of the settlement cancer."
