PA Minister of Religious Affairs repeats libel that Israel is plotting to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to build the Temple
Headline: “Ida’is: The Ribat at the Al-Aqsa Mosque is thwarting the plots against it”
“[PA] Minister of Religious Affairs Yusuf Ida’is called on the members of our people to carry out Ribat (i.e., religious conflict/war over land claimed to be Islamic) at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to thwart all of the plots that are being planned against it.
Ida’is said… that our people is showing interest in building mosques in order to emphasize the Palestinian Arab identity on these lands, and that our battle with the occupation is an existential battle…
He added that the occupation is not hesitating to invade the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, and that through this it wants to establish facts on the ground in order to divide it… and more than this, to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque and establish the alleged Temple.”
The PA and its leaders consider all of the Temple Mount an integral part of the Al-Aqsa Mosque. Therefore they view any presence of Jews on the mount as an "invasion." It should be noted that Jews who visit the Temple Mount only enter some sections of the open areas, and do not enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque or the Dome of the Rock.
