PA Foreign Ministry attacks US Ambassador Friedman: “A typical extremist right-wing Israeli, first a Jew and then an American despicable racist”… Friedman’s “ilk” are “the enemies of humanity”

      “The [PA] Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates said that the statements of extremist US Ambassador [to Israel] David Friedman, who emphasized that Israel’s security takes precedence over the establishment of a Palestinian state (see note below –Ed.), ‘prove that he is the senior official who is most dangerous to the Palestinian cause, to our people’s rights, and to peace, stability, and security in the region.’ It added that ‘His positions are a mark of shame on the forehead of the US.’ In a statement it published yesterday [Oct. 2, 2018], the ministry condemned the blind American bias in favor of the occupation and settlements, and Friedman’s ominous statements to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation. It emphasized that his positions are not surprising, as he is a typical extremist right-wing Israeli, first a Jew and then an American, and belongs to the racist settlement movement that denies the existence of the Palestinians on this land. The ministry said that despicable racist thinking like this is expressed only by Friedman’s ilk, the enemies of humanity who belong to a culture of hatred, racism, blind enmity, and anti-enlightenment towards everything Palestinian…"

During an interview on Sept. 27, 2018 – a day after US President Donald Trump said that he favored a two-state solution – US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman indicated concern about a two-state solution and said "I think that under the right circumstances, where a Palestinian state is not a threat to Israel, it is something that people should think about." He also said that “Where Palestinian autonomy and Israeli security intersect, we err on the side of Israeli security,” adding that "The US will never propose something which deprives Israel of the right and the necessity of maintaining security control."
