PA TV reports on Israeli army's destruction of Hamas' Al-Aqsa TV studio, calling it "a war crime"
Official PA TV program Palestine This Morning, on Israel bombing Hamas’ Al-Aqsa TV station building in the Gaza Strip on Nov. 12, 2018, hosting Director of the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate Nasser Abu Bakr
Official PA TV host: “Mr. Nasser, three warning rockets, and after them three rockets completely destroyed the building of [Hamas’] Al-Aqsa satellite channel. Thank God there are no wounded among our colleagues and the journalists there. The [Palestine] Broadcasting Corporation has condemned this attack, the attempt at silencing [them], and the open and clear blow to the media, as the extremist right-wing [Israeli] government has grown accustomed to doing… [What is] the position of the [Palestinian] Journalists’ Syndicate and the Arab media – through your connections with it – regarding this attack?”
Director of the Palestinian Journalists’ Syndicate Nasser Abu Bakr: “As you said, the statement of the Journalists’ Syndicate strongly condemned this occupation crime. We view it as a war crime against the Palestinian media, and we will mention that since the beginning of the occupation the Israeli occupation forces have been waging an extensive war against the Palestinian media. They don't want there to be a strong Palestinian media that tells the truth. What was carried out tonight against the Al-Aqsa satellite channel is a new crime from among the occupation’s crimes, and we have condemned it… This is an ongoing war. However, the journalists and the Palestinian media outlets prove every day that they are up to the challenge. A few minutes after the bombing of the Al-Aqsa channel it returned to broadcasting.”
