At rally honoring terrorists’ families, Fatah and PA officials praise prisoners and Martyrs: “The Martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the people’s freedom, and the prisoners have sacrificed their freedom for our people’s freedom”
Headline: “Bethlehem: Honoring the family members of the prisoners and the Martyrs whose bodies are being held by the occupation”
“The Fatah Movement, the [PLO] Commission of Prisoners’ Affairs, and the [PA-funded] Prisoners’ Club… honored the family members of the prisoners that were sentenced to life, the family members of the prisoners that were sentenced to more than 10 years, and the family members of the Martyrs (Shahids) that are being held by the occupation. Fatah Deputy Chairman [and Fatah Central Committee member] Mahmoud Al-Aloul said: ‘The goal of this rally is to honor and give support to the family members of the prisoners and the family members of the Martyrs whose bodies are being held [by the occupation].’ He emphasized that everyone understands well that these are the ones that are sacrificing for the Palestinian people, and that their sacrifices are great. Al-Aloul added: ‘The Martyrs have sacrificed their lives for the people’s freedom, and the prisoners have sacrificed their freedom for our people’s freedom. These are two great things.’ … Bethlehem District Governor Kamel Hamid said: ‘This tribute is a great message that is meant first of all to lift the morale of the families of the prisoners and Martyrs, and to keep the prisoners’ cause alive in the consciousness of all the members of the Palestinian people.’ … He added: ‘When [we] honor the prisoners and Martyrs, we honor ourselves and our people, and emphasize the exalted mission for which the Martyrs died.’”
