PA Education Minister conveyed greetings and "gesture of loyalty" to terrorist and his family from PA leadership and Fatah Central Committee

      “The [Fatah] Movement office in the [PA] Ministry of Education and Higher Education honored the mother of the most veteran prisoner and Fatah Central Committee member, fighter Karim Younes (i.e., terrorist, murdered 1 together with an accomplice), yesterday [Feb. 3, 2019].

Saidam emphasized that this event constitutes a gesture of loyalty to prisoner Younes and his family. He conveyed the greetings of the Palestinian leadership and the [Fatah] Central Committee members to them, and said that he thinks that this tribute ceremony has special significance at this time, when the occupation’s actions against the prisoners and detainees are escalating.
The minister again emphasized that the Ministry of Education will remain the most loyal to the national values and to the symbols who have defended the national enterprise. He thanked everyone who supports the ministry and defends it, its positions, and its curricula.”

Karim Younes - Israeli Arab serving a 40-year sentence for kidnapping and murdering Israeli soldier Avraham Bromberg in 1980 together with his cousin Maher Younes. Younes was originally sentenced to life in prison, but Israeli President Shimon Peres reduced his sentence in 2012. In May 2017 Younes was appointed by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to the Fatah Central Committee.

Yasser Arafat – Founder of Fatah and former chairman of the PLO and PA. During the 1960s, 70s and 80s Arafat was behind numerous terror attacks against Israelis. Although he received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1994 together with then Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and then Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Shimon Peres “for their efforts to create peace in the Middle East" after signing the Oslo Accords peace agreement, Arafat launched a 5-year terror campaign - the second Intifada (2000-2005) – in which more than 1,000 Israelis were murdered. Arafat died of an illness in 2004.
