Damascus, Feb. 18, 2019
A Fatah delegation led by Abbas Zaki visited the Fatah branch in Damascus, in the Syrian Arab Republic. The delegation included Fatah Central Committee member [and Fatah Commissioner of Popular Organizations] Tawfiq Tirawi, [Fatah] Revolutionary Council member [and Secretary-General of the PA Islamic-Christian Council for Jerusalem and the Holy Places] Hanna Issa, and [Chairperson of the PA] Environmental Protection [Authority with the rank of] Minister Adalah Atteereh…
Zaki briefed the members of the Fatah branch in Syria about the central political developments in the Palestinian arena, and the pressure and sanctions that are being implemented against the Palestinian leadership and [PA] President brother Mahmoud Abbas. He also briefed them about the American administration’s attempts to execute the deal of the century (refers to US President Donald Trump’s as yet unpublished Middle East peace plan –Ed.), eliminate the Palestinian cause, and support the presence of the Zionist entity that is desecrating the sites that are holy to Islam and Christianity every day, and particularly about the Warsaw Conference (see note below –Ed.) that is a curse on everyone who attended it in order to create a new enemy instead of the Zionist entity (apparently refers to how the conference focused on the Iranian threat to the Middle East –Ed.).
Regarding the Al-Yarmouk refugee camp, Abbas Zaki noted that the Palestinian leadership is continuing its agenda regarding the refugee camps, and that they are continuing to work with the Syrian government for the return of the refugee camp’s residents and its restoration, like the rest of the refugee camps that have been destroyed.
The delegation emphasized that Syria’s victory is Palestine’s victory, and that today Syria is recovering from the alleged Zionist-American ‘[Arab] Spring.’”
