Abbas advisor rejects US special envoy’s criticism of PA for ignoring rockets fired at Israel from Gaza; “resolve of the Palestinian leadership… is the firm rock against which all the plots that target our cause... and our Al-Aqsa Mosque will be shattered”

"Supreme Shari’ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas’] advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash criticized American Envoy to the Middle East Jason Greenblatt today, Wednesday [May 8, 2019], following his position that sides with the Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and the Gaza Strip.
Al-Habbash said in a statement: 'Greenblatt sees things in Palestine with one of his eyes blinded – and it could even be that he does so deliberately – when he speaks about the rockets that were launched from Gaza but does not speak about the destructive American missiles that Israel launched towards Gaza, and does not see them.'
In response to Greenblatt's statements (a tweet by Greenblatt; see note below –Ed.), Al-Habbash added that [Greenblatt] does not want to see the scope of the destruction caused by the American produced missiles that the occupation state launched towards the Gaza Strip; nor the buildings that they destroyed down to the foundations – and whose residents they left without shelter; nor the children, babies, and women who were killed by these missiles, from which even fetuses in their mothers' wombs were not saved…
Al-Habbash emphasized that the alleged ‘deal’ (i.e., “the deal of the century,” US President Donald Trump's as yet unpublished Middle East peace plan) that the American administration is promoting through leaks here and there has already been buried before seeing the light of day, as it is a lame deal that has no connection to truth, history, or religion…
He emphasized that the resolve of the Palestinian leadership, and at its head President Mahmoud Abbas… is the firm rock against which all the plots that target our cause, our Jerusalem, and our Al-Aqsa Mosque will be shattered, and primarily the deal of the century."
Mahmoud Al-Habbash also holds the position of Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice.
PA Supreme Shari’ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash’s mention of US Envoy Jason Greenblatt’s statements refers to a tweet on his Twitter account posted May 7, 2019, in which he wrote: “Amazingly Palestinian PM Shtayyeh urges the UN & international community to act responsibly to ensure cessation of ‘Israeli onslaught’ on Gaza, BUT doesn't address the 700+ rockets fired upon Israel. Another reminder of why Israel’s security is not debatable & a focus of our plan”
