"The entire world will pay" if Muslims don't "act" to save Al-Aqsa from "the Israeli plot," threatens Abbas' advisor on Islam
Abbas' advisor Al-Habbash: Conflict with Israel is "between good and evil"
Al-Habbash: "If the Muslims don't act now, something will occur whose end is bad and bitter, and then the entire world will pay dearly"
Al-Habbash: "The battle over Jerusalem... is... a battle between facts and myth, between truth and falsehood, between justice and injustice, between integrity and distortion, between tolerance and fanaticism, and between good and evil..."
Al-Habbash: Israel is "Satan's project"; Israel has "Culture of Satan"
"The entire world will pay dearly," if the Muslim world doesn't "act" to save Jerusalem from Israel's plots - this is the warning from one of the most important religious figures in the Palestinian Authority on his Twitter account.
Repeating the PA libel that Israel is planning to destroy the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Mahmoud Abbas' advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs and PA Supreme Shari'ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash wrote:
"The Israeli plot against the Al-Aqsa Mosque is becoming more dangerous and expanding from day to day. If the Muslims don't act now, something will occur whose end is bad and bitter, and then the entire world will pay dearly. The Al-Aqsa Mosque is religion and faith, and nothing is too valuable for it. 'So take warning, O people of vision' [Quran, Sura 59:2, Sahih International translation]."
Twitter account of PA Supreme Shari'ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash, June 2, 2019
The words Al-Habbash chose to end his tweet were a quote from the Quran, which can be interpreted as a warning to Jews:
"So take warning, O people of vision"
Quran, Sura 59:2
This sentence is the continuation of a verse that describes Allah's punishment of the Jews:
"It is He who expelled the ones who disbelieved among the People of the Scripture [Jews] from their homes at the first gathering. You did not think they would leave, and they thought that their fortresses would protect them from Allah ; but [the decree of] Allah came upon them from where they had not expected, and He cast terror into their hearts [so] they destroyed their houses by their [own] hands and the hands of the believers. So take warning, O people of vision."
Quran, Sura 59:2, Sahih International translation
During a recent sermon he held in the Moscow Cathedral Mosque in Russia, Al-Habbash also called on Muslims to protect Jerusalem in "the struggle between truth and falsehood":
"Jerusalem is the embodiment of the struggle between truth and falsehood, and it is one of the religious symbols that are connected to the Islamic faith - like the sanctuary in Mecca and the sanctuary in Medina - and it needs its people, the Muslims from the entire world in order to protect its identity, history, and sanctity."
Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 1, 2019
Palestinian Media Watch has documented Al-Habbash's antisemitic views according to which he categorizes the conflict with Israel not as a territorial one but as a conflict "between good and evil." Al-Habbash repeated this recently, when he in an op-ed in the official PA daily wrote that:
"The battle over Jerusalem that is raging today is not just a battle with a foreign occupation that has occupied [Jerusalem's] land, but a battle between facts and myth, between truth and falsehood, between justice and injustice, between integrity and distortion, between tolerance and fanaticism, and between good and evil."
Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, April 20, 2019
In 2018, Al-Habbash explained to viewers on official PA TV that Islam's religious war to destroy Israel had started. He stated that Israelis/Jews are the "enemies of Islam," "enemies of Muslims," have a "culture of Satan," and represent "evil":
In a sermon in 2015, Al-Habbash described the conflict between Palestinians and Israelis as "Allah's project" vs. "Satan's project":
Mahmoud Abbas' Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs and Supreme Shari'ah Judge Mahmoud Al-Habbash: "The conflict here in Palestine between us and the criminal occupation and its criminal leaders, is a further manifestation of our trials, a further manifestation of the historic conflict between truth and falsehood, between good and evil. Throughout history, there has been a conflict between good and evil. The good is represented by the prophets and their supporters. The evil is represented by the devils and their supporters, by the satans and their supporters. We are not inventing anything new here (i.e., Palestinian-Israeli). This is a conflict between two entities, good and evil, between two projects: Allah's project vs. Satan's project, a project connected to Allah, which is his will - true and good - and a project connected to oppression and Satanism, to Satanism and animosity, occupation and barbarism."
Official PA TV, Oct. 23, 2015
The following are longer excerpts of the reports mentioned above:
Excerpt of an op-ed by PA Supreme Shari'ah Judge, PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs, and Chairman of the Supreme Council for Shari'ah Justice Mahmoud Al-Habbash
"The battle over Jerusalem that is raging today is not just a battle with a foreign occupation that has occupied [Jerusalem's] land, but a battle between facts and myth, between truth and falsehood, between justice and injustice, between integrity and distortion, between tolerance and fanaticism, and between good and evil... And perhaps those who read history well and understand the irrevocable facts of the religion will be calm regarding the final result of this battle, which will not complete its path except in the harbors of the promise for the end of days (Habbash has previously mentioned a "final promise" referring to a future destruction of Israel; see note below -Ed.)."
Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, April 20, 2019
Headline: "Al-Habbash: Jerusalem is the embodiment of the conflict between truth and falsehood and it needs its people, the Muslims from the entire world"
"Supreme Shari'ah Judge of Palestine and [PA] President [Mahmoud Abbas'] Advisor on Religious and Islamic Affairs Mahmoud Al-Habbash said that Jerusalem is the embodiment of the struggle between truth and falsehood, and it is one of the religious symbols that are connected to the Islamic faith - like the sanctuary in Mecca and the sanctuary in Medina - and it needs its people, the Muslims from the entire world in order to protect its identity, history, and sanctity.
During a Friday sermon at the great Moscow Cathedral Mosque in Russia, Al-Habbash called to visit [Jerusalem] and pray at its mosque...
The supreme Shari'ah judge said that Jerusalem is the city of peace, whose residents must live in security and peace like the rest of the peoples of the world by ending this oppressive occupation that weighs on our land and our Jerusalem and prevents us from reaching our [Al-Aqsa] Mosque, which will never be anything but an Islamic mosque."Official PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 1, 2019
