Abbas congratulates North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un, expresses “pride in the historical friendly relations between the two states and emphasized his efforts to make them closer”

“[PA] President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas congratulated Chairman of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Supreme Commander of the People’s Army Marshall Kim Jong-un over the great confidence in him that the members of the Supreme People’s Assembly displayed when they again recognized him as chairman of the State Affairs Commission.

In the greeting telegram, His Honor [Abbas] expressed pride in the historical friendly relations between the two states and emphasized his efforts to make them closer and develop the cooperation.

He expressed his certainty that Korea will continue its firm support for and solidarity with our people in its effort and legitimate struggle to end the occupation and establish the independent state whose capital is East Jerusalem, the city of tolerance, coexistence, and peace.”
